To Whom It May Concern:

Subject:  Strong Recommendation for John Kennedy

I have known John Kennedy for 25 years.  18 plus years John served as Facilities and Property Manager for Lake Highland Preparatory School and I as President of the school.  LHPS is a PreK - K to 12 grade independent coed day school in Orlando, Florida with 2000 students and 350 full-time employees 60 acres and 19 facilities on three campus areas.

John made my job as president of the school easy.  He maintained our physical plant in tip-top shape and kept the campuses looking beautiful - all the time, every time.  He was a self-starter manager who carried out our strategic plans in all facilities.  John worked countless hours to make sure our campus looked its best whether it was for a special occasion or just an everyday school day.

I was continuously amazed how he stayed on top of so many things and was always ahead of any problem.  He presented solutions whenever a piece of equipment started to fail or when a situation developed well before management even knew there was a problem.

John understood customer service and insured his team was very responsive to requests for help from staff and faculty, and very importantly, from parents when participating in special events on campus.  He set the example and his customer service zero defects mindset was reflected by all of his employees professionalism and effectiveness.

Here are some highlights of John's 26 years of service at Lake Highland:

- Supervised 18 employees 3 sub managers.

- Managed an annual budget of $ 1.6 million, plus another $1.2 million plus in improvements during an average year

- Oversaw 4 large budget vendors in Janitorial, HVAC, Landscape, and Sports vendors, plus many various projects using 41 plus vendors.

-Responsive for an average of 80+ projects each year - some big, some small, some planned, and some unplanned.

Did major project layouts and designs, wrote all vendor contracts and work scopes, solicited bids, hired vendors, and managed the day-to-day operations of all owned and operated facilities and grounds.

John was a team player, contributing in so many ways.  His expertise was invaluable in the operation of the school.  I could always rely on him for his detailed knowledge and for professional advice.   And then, I could count on him to execute successfully, thoroughly and on budget the decisions we make together.  If you have any questions about how he might contribute to your organization regarding maintenance or project management, please do not hesitate to call me at (321) 436-8534.

Sincerely,

Warren Hudson

Former President of LHPS 2001-2016
